Do you remember the last time you sent a letter? If it’s been a while, World Letter Writing Day is the perfect opportunity to get back into the swing of things! This special day is all about celebrating the art of letter writing. It’s a time to put pen to paper and send a message to someone you care about. Whether you’re catching up on old news or sending love letters. It is a special way to connect with people.
Here are a few tips to get you started:
– Choose the right stationery. This is half the fun! Whether you opt for pretty patterned paper or classic white notecards, make sure your stationery reflects your personality.
– Take your time. A handwritten letter is a thoughtful gesture, so don’t rush it. Sit down and take the time to write out your thoughts clearly.
– Be personal. A letter is a great opportunity to really connect with someone. Share stories and details that you wouldn’t necessarily include in an email or text message.
– Mail it! The best part of writing a letter is receiving one in return. So don’t forget to put a stamp on it and drop it in the mailbox.
History of World Letter Writing Day.
In 2014, Simpkin launched World Letter Writing Day. In the late 1990s, Simpkin penned letters to people he considered to be Australian legends. When legendary figures responded to his correspondence, he became enthused. Simpkin published his book “Australian Legends” in 2005. His enthusiasm for the epistles that made the project possible inspired him to establish a day dedicated to letter writing. Simpkins encourages students and adults alike to take a break from social media and write a letter in order to raise awareness of letter-writing activities.
