The Month of May

May is the fifth month of the Gregorian calendar and has 31 days. It is a time of transition from spring to summer in the Northern Hemisphere and from autumn to winter in the Southern Hemisphere. The name "May" comes from the Latin word "Maius," which was named after the Greek goddess Maia, who was associated with fertility and growth. In many cultures, May is considered a month of renewal and growth, and is associated with celebrations such as May Day and Mother's Day.
